And the anime adaptation finally ends. I totally neglected reading the manga (*Sebastian lives!*) because it updates monthly and I was watch this. Now I can go back to waiting for it monthly after watching this for 12 entire weeks…
Oh wait correction, there are apparently OVAs or something… 4 in fact, released along with the DVDs…
Negative comments below, I suggest you don’t read it if you can’t take my ridiculous comments and rants, though I don’t really care even if you hate me.
I watched the final 3 episodes all at one go, But unfortunately, it was not as exciting as reading the 3 chapters of its manga counterpart which I missed. Lets see, from episode 9, Ciel gets brought back home by Claude who supposedly fused Alois’s memories with Ciel’s.
In truth, Claude just wants Ciel to dominate him
And our perfect butler just lost to his rival, and lost his master to his rival too. Sebastian anguishes, leaving chances for Grelle and fangirls to photograph/screenshot his angst.
No one should mess with Sebastian, especially after he just lost his beloved young master to some weird glasses guy (ie Claude) and is discussing matters with his biggest fan, who just happens to be a crazy chainsaw wielding gay reaper; even if you are demon triplets.
Grelle, along with several thousand fangirls just died.
The truth about Alois’s past and how his younger brother, Luka died is also revealed but thats not important yet.
Hannah shows Ciel Alois’s eye (which she took some episodes back) and Alois takes over Ciel’s consciousness along with creating a giant clock tower and rose maze out of no where. We don’t need to know how that happened either, since Kuro II has probably been defying logic from episode 1.
Episode 10 was just a quiz show on how well the 2 butlers understand their masters, despite Claude insisting that his master is Ciel. Meanwhile Alois takes up an abusive stance, to both Hannah and Ciel’s body, since, its Ciel’s body and not his anyway. He’s already dead.
Claude has flexible hands…
Alois holds unrequited crazy love for his highness, Claude, who, unfortunately, only only lusts for Ciel’s soul, much to Sebastian’s chagrin. Hannah also holds unrequited love for Alois, whom has been reciprocating her by being an abusive bastard. Grelle is totally gay for Sebastian whom is only interested in Ciel, but we all know that Elizabeth wants Ciel.
In conclusion, Kuroshitsuji is really a love hate gay drama with a complicated relationship web (explains the spiders) and blown to epic proportions by demons, reapers and shotas.
In the end, the 2 butlers decided that the only person whom is standing in their way from devouring Ciel’s soul is really Hannah and they decide to team up. The very next episode, we realize that its useless since Alois made a pact with the only person that loves him, Hannah, in Ciel’s body, making it impossible for either butlers to lay their hands on Ciel.
Hannah makes the both of them fight a battle to death for Ciel’s soul. We can’t have Sebastian dying of course, so Claude has to die. On the bright side, at least he made Sebastian help him put on his glasses before his death. He looks odd without his glasses…
Alois>Ciel, in terms of height anyway
Hannah, holding onto Ciel’s unconscious body supposedly devours Alois’s soul and jumps off a cliff, while somehow, a few scenes later, she is seen lying down beside Claude as the island crumbles away. We don’t need to know how that happened either.
Alois and Luka lived happily ever after with Hannah and Claude as the parents they never had, as one happy family, the end.
The one who had the last laugh was really Alois though. Thanks to his wish from the contract with Hannah, Ciel is now a demon, ie. immortal, eternal and would probably feed on human souls.
The 2 neglected Indian side characters
While, Sebastian, due to the last order Ciel gave him:
To be by Ciel’s side as CIel’s butler until he takes Ciel soul
To which he agreed to, is now eternally Ciel’s butler.
In the epilogue Sebastian sets out to hand every side character, including the reapers a black box and leave the mansion all together. God knows what they will do afterward, we’re all better off forgetting we ever watched this and going back to reading the manga.
At least now we know that Kuroshitsuji happens in the 1880s.
Honestly, I totally regret watching this anime instead of something else, like Seitokai Yakuindomo or Mitsudomoe for example. At least the later 2 are hilariously funny. Hardly justified since I only watched this for Nana Mizuki and Alois so technically, I should have stopped watching this in episode 8, which I said I would but didn’t.
I had a seriously good impression on the manga (especially after the Noah Ark Arc) and I didn’t watch the first season, thank god I didn’t. This ending just made me stare, and space out.
Right, so thanks to Alois and Claude and everything that happened in the past 12 episodes, Ciel is now a demon and Sebastian his butler, for eternity and yaoi fangirls are free to imagine what the 2 are going to spend the rest of their time doing, but so what? So like what the hell have I been watching this for the entire 12 weeks?
The other point is, you know what? I can’t even think of Claude or Hannah as the bad guys anymore. Claude just did what he did as a demon (he even acknowledged Alois in the end), and Hannah… She’s just hopelessly in love with Alois. As for Sebastian? He has this sad depressed and troubled face throughout the past few episodes, occasionally showing some bittersweet angst filled smiles. Ciel is as aloof as ever, though he did show a bittersweet smile while dancing with Elizabeth (I just can help but want him and Alois to switch places just to get that Nana and Yukarin pairing again though…).
Perhaps the Only good thing about this show was Grelle’s gay moments and Alois going “Ole~!”. This show is so frigging screwed that I seriously need to forget all about it and wait another month for kuroshitsuji next chapter…
PS and Nana didn’t even perform a single song in the entire anime, not that Kalafina’s Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa wasn’t good, but I’m disappointed.

Guess what? Most yaoi fangirls aren’t happy with it. They want SebxCiel love-love ending or Sebastian eating Ciel’s soul but regret it since he realizes he fell in love with him, so Seb’s looking depressed because he has to be Ciel’s slave forever is unacceptable. They are disappointed because Yana Toboso pointed out that Sebastian doesn’t love Ciel, he only want to eat his soul, so there are a lot of S2 bashings around Kuroshitsuji forums now XD
I quite like the bittersweet sense of this ending though. I don’t like a mary sue ending that hero always win happily, so I have to give credit to Yana, who gave an idea of this ending, for making it looks like every fan get what they expected, but not completely. Alois’ fans get to see his happy ending but he stays dead, Ciel’s fans get to see him stay alive but as a demon and yaoi fans get SebxCiel ending but Seb doesn’t look happy with it. It’s like she gave “take that! isn’t it what you want? but I still do it in my way” to all fans XD
IMO, this season is better than I expected, better than the first season, but it doesn’t means that it’s a good anime. A1 could make a better story if they focus on two clans’ rivalry more than fan service and every guy becomes pedo for Ciel. I guess I should forget it and go back to manga like you said.
Yea, I noticed all the bashings after I posted my thoughts. I felt oddly pleased when I saw the large amount of negative comments though. Yana Toboso did mention that Sebastian is not really the hero of this story and that he is probably a bad guy, but the fans have their own opinions anyway.
I can’t agree with you on the ending though, the conclusion just reminds me of those stories where everyone dies in the end, though I suppose you have to salute them for coming up with the ending which I completely didn’t expect. In some way, every fan, at least get a bit of what they want, but yet probably most of them are unsatisfied anyway.
After giving it more thought, I realize that I have no idea what I think of this anime anymore (either than Alois was interesting) and the next time someone asks me about Kuroshitsuji anime, I’ll just tell them it doesn’t exist.
I’m not impressed with anime adaptation of this series either, only think the 2nd season is better than the first one. Maybe I’m satisfied with this ending because it’s funny to see hardcore yaoi fangirls, who didn’t care about anything except SebxCiel and said this season is soooo brilliant because of bl fan service, just threw a fit after they got Yana’s surprise. (Yes, I’m evil. XD)
Agree with you that Alois is a character that makes this season more interesting, maybe Hannah, too, since they both are unpredictable. Claude used to be an interesting villian until he became Ciel’s fangirl in EP10 and his death is meh, too easy for a powerful demon like him.
Well at least I didn’t watch Season 1~ I had fun watching fangirls being disappointed too~ But I honestly had no idea that Yana was responsible for the anime plot too.
Alois can be quite a fun character; and if you want to compare back story, Alois probably had a more tragic past compared to Ciel. I cannot bring myself to like Hannah, after all the DIService (and Aya Hirano). Claude, is boring, nuff said and after episode 10, he just looks like a pervert. I expected him to die by Sebastian’s hands too.
Actually, what I want most out of season 2 is a character image song for Alois~
The staff said that Yana gave an idea for the ending. That’s why fujoshis can’t use the reason like “this is trash, it’s not Yana’s work” to bash S2. They can only weep and said something like it’s Yana’s personal doujinshi not the real storyline XD
Yes, I want Alois’ character song, too, but it’s not likely to happen as all slots of 10 character CDs are full already and no Alois’. -_-
Well, good job, Yana Toboso, good job~
Awww, no Alois character song? Why does finny who isn’t even a major character get one anyway?
I feel that Sebastian and Ciel’s story should have been finished with season one. If they had simply let Sebastian eat Ciel’s soul, and moved on to Alois/Claude as the main characters of season two, it would have been much better.
I loved the bittersweet ending though. (I love yaoi, but all of the fan service kind of ticked me off. I LIKE that Sebastian and Ciel don’t ‘get together’ in the end.)
Also: Those ‘poor, neglected Indian characters’ were the
only thing that made me cry in this entire anime.
I would love to know what was up with all of those white roses in the end though. Was there a purpose for the two relocating to the big flower field? Because I certainly didn’t catch it.
Overall I love your review.
I would have liked it too if they just ended sebsatian and ciel’s story and followed up with Alois and claude only in season 2, but, no, the fans of season one were unhappy so Yana Toboso and the directors HAD to include Sebastian and Ciel.
I respect what others like, but they did go overboard with the service and how Ciel became a demon in the end does leave us something to think about.
A lot of side characters got neglected in season 2, especially the undertaker who only appeared once in the ending. The flower field is… probably just to portray the ending in a more bittersweet and dramatic manner?
The last episode totally ruined the second season for me! Gah. I definitely don’t agree with many people on the board who assert that Season 2 was better than Season 1. The ending for Season 1 was perfect, the story line compact, and the characters much more deeply explored than in this season. The only thing BB2 had was Alois (and he died early on). I guess I’ll just have to wait for the inevitable third season to renew my Kuroshitsuji faith.
The OVA, hold faith in the OVA, and the manga. I lost faith in Kuroshitsuji anime already.
azure~ i lost faith in it. i’m gonna move on . . . sad lah i din even hv time to watch the friggin *)*~@#@#%$** last episode
manga, its something you can actually do from the library. Keep faith in the manga~
Good Morning. Such a honor to mee you all.
For Azure Hoshizora-sama, actually Alois Trancy has his own music theme.
The title is:
The Slightly Chipped Full Moon (Alois Trancy’s Theme)
by Iwasaki Taku
The song appears almost in every eps of Kuroshitsuji II.
You can google it, though. And it really a heart-breaking song. A sad one. I nearly crying when hear this song… >///<"
Thank you before.
Lol, a really formal comment
I liked this theme but I think it sounds better as an instrumental. The vocals make it sound like something out of a depressing broadway musical though it suits Kuroshitsuji I suppose…
Good morning, Hoshizora-sama…
Well..yah..you right, actually. Some of Kuroshitsuji BGM have lyrics on it… Just little of them which just an instrumental. Do you know where i can download Anime BGM like Pandora Hearts (Yuki Kajiura)…? I think, Pandora Hearts and Kuroshitsuji share similiarities (even the theme song..it’s quite dark)
Thank you before. And do u really think that my words too formal? XD
Hey there~
I haven’t exactly watched Pandora Hearts, its sitting in the long list of anime I should have watched but did not. As for the OST I’ll send you an e mail about it. Yeah, Yuki Kajiura composed for Pandora Hearts; but the only connection she has with Kuroshitsuji is really through Kalafina’s Lacrimosa and the Alois ED
Actually, yes, sort of, lol
Well, for me… As oppose to what you said… I think the ending is perfect… It just balances the whole story…
If I were Sebastian, even though I’ve been waiting for so long for the moment to take Ciel’s soul, but all this time, everything I did, was just to devour Ciel. Following his orders all the way… Gave him the taste of revenge, I was there the whole time…
and after all those moments, I learned how special Ciel’s soul… The soul that I’ve been searching and waiting for my entire eternal-life… and maybe.. just maybe.. Consuming his soul, wouldn’t be the thing that I wanted the most… Therefore, even if there’s a moment now that he had turned into a demon and I had became his butler forever, I feel a little regret, but deep down, I know I couldn’t imagine my life without him by my side…
Well, if I were Sebastian Michaelis though…
I suppose it does sort of add up if you look at it from Sebastian’s point of view, seeing how he probably enjoys being a butler and his time with Ciel.
That’d make Alois revenge not such a successful one though; since the whole point of wishing that Ciel becomes a demon is to torment both Sebastian and Claude, both whom fought so hard just to get Ciel’s soul.
But overall I guess people have their own personal preferences
